Welcome to today's episode of Reflective Hour. I'm your host, Tammy Toney-Butler, Healing Evangelist. We all know who though the host of this show is and that's Christ by way of his holy spirit. The spirit of truth. The spirit of truth. The spirit of God that lives within us as Christ followers. As followers of Lord Jesus coming under his lordship. Surrendering to his will for our lives. and not our own. How many of you have called out to God and said, "Deliver me, oh God. Deliver us, oh God. Deliver us, oh God."
How many of you need to be delivered
from the bondage of sin? For the wages of sin is death. How many of you need to be delivered? How many of you call out to God in the middle of the night and say, "Father, Aba Father, help me. Father, I don't know how I'm going to pay my bills. I don't know why I'm still feeling sick. I know I was prayed for. I felt the power of God into me. I know I've been healed, but yet doubt starts to creep in.
Can you deliver me, God, from myself? Even deliver me from unbelief.
Deliver me from doubt. Can you strengthen me, oh God? like it says in Isaiah 40:31, I'll soar like an eagle. I'll run and not grow weary. I'll walk and not faint.
God, are you with me?
I try not to doubt God, but there's times it's so difficult when we've lost a loved one, when we're going through a trial, when our marriage is in trouble, when we're facing a bank foreclosure, when we have to leave a abusive relationship and walk towards freedom, towards uncertainty.
Will you deliver us God? Will you help us God? Will you save us even from ourselves?
What does does deliverance mean to you? What does it mean to be delivered? What does it mean to be delivered? to be delivered from sin, from spiritual bondage or spiritual death. Who was our ultimate deliverer?
Who was our ultimate deliverer?
Why did Jesus die on the cross? Why was he not our ultimate deliverer?
By his stripes, you were healed.
He was wounded for your transgressions.
But yet, he brought you freedom through his work on the cross. He bore your sin. He pardoned you from sin, from the life sentence of sin. You're no longer under the curse of the law. You're no longer under those Old Testament generational curses, generational family oppression. You're no longer under that condemnation.
The fall of Adam and Eve in the garden, the fall of man. We were separated from God through sin. Jesus came to remove that separation, to tear the veil and deliver us, to bring us total freedom by the blood shed on Calvary. But do we believe it? Do we receive it? Do we walk in it? Do we look at scriptures
and and get the word of God in us? Because faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Do we anchor into the scriptures to the truth? Do we see Jesus as a place of refuge like in Mark 4 where he rebuked the storm? Or do we look in Ruth 2 and see God working through others to help deliver us? H how Boaz delivered Ruth? Do we look to Isaiah 61 and and proclaimed freedom for the captives? Do we see how in Luke 4:18-19 Jesus actually quoted Isaiah 61? And do we look in Romans 8 and9 and and look at the freedom offered to us by Jesus's sacrifice on the cross and how we have the ministry of reconciliation. How we've been reconciled to God. A relationship restored.
No longer condemned but set free. And he who the son sets free is free indeed. Do we look at Genesis 45:7? How there was the rescue of Joseph's family?
Do we see how God's power brings deliverance? How we're set free from demonic influences and and oppression, those negative spiritual forces because we don't wrestle against flesh. When we look at Ephesians,
do we look to the word of God, the promises of God, and seek refuge from the storms of life under the shadow and the wings of the almighty God? Do we look to our deliverer, Jesus, and his work on the cross? Do we see how he made a way where there was no way? How he broke every curse? Cursed was anything anyone that hangeth on a tree and he hung on the tree and took all of those curses, all of that stuff that it talks about in Deuteronomy, I believe 18. How all that was nailed to the cross with Jesus on that old wooden cross on that execution stake. How by his stripes, all his stripes, every blow we were healed.
God's mercy, his grace by sending his only begotten son that whosoever believeth on him shall not perish but have everlasting life
so that we can have life and have it more abundantly
so that when we say deliver us, oh God, deliver us out of Egypt, oh God, and get Egypt out of us, that he's already sent the answer. He's already made the way. You only have to believe it and receive it. You only have to walk by faith and not by sight. Walk in trust and receive the promise. Receive the Holy Spirit. Make Lord Jesus savior of your life. You only have to respond to the invitation to the way that was made at Calvary. And you only have to say, "Lord Jesus, Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. I want you to be Lord and Savior of my life. I want to turn from the old way. I want to walk in the newness, in the wholeness that you have for me. Sickness is not my portion. Cancer is not my portion. Poverty is not my portion. Chronic fatigue is not my portion. Chronic pain is not my portion. I am whole. I've been healed by your work on the cross. The blood covers everything, a multitude of sins. You are our pardon from the life sentence of the spiritual death and the separation that we received from our loving father when sin was brought into the world. But we get to have heaven on earth. That's what it says. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We are victorious in Christ Jesus. We get to walk from a state of perpetual a deliverance. We've been delivering delivered. We've been set free. He has delivered us. All we have to do is believe and walk in it and know that we know that we know there's a God and know that we know that we know that he's delivered us and know that healing is ours. We only have to grab hold of it, take hold of it, and say, "Yes, God. I believe you. I know that hands were laid upon me. I know that the elders of the church prayed over me. I know that I was anointed with oil. But I know that the blood of Jesus has set me free and already healed me by his work on the cross, by his wounds, by his his his stripes bruised for our inequities.
I trust you, Jesus. I trust your work on the cross. Like you healed the woman with the issue of blood just by her faith. She believed that if she touched her garment, she'd be healed. But what she believed on was all that you represented. You represented complete wholeness and restoration for all who fix their eyes on you, Jesus, in the middle of the storm and not on our circumstances, not on our emotions, not on our feelings. Well, I know that pastor prayed for me, or I know that evangelist prayed for me, and I felt that power go into me, but I'm not really sure that I was healed.
No, that's not what you say. You say, "I know without a doubt that Christ died for me, that he healed many in the Bible, and that it is God's will that none shall perish. It is God's will that we are healed, that we walk in wholeness, that we walk from a place of victory. We have authority over sin, sickness, and death because of the work done on the cross. And it's that power that resurrected Christ from the dead. That power that lives in us and works through us to set others free. So, we have been delivered. We only need to believe it to receive it. When I look at Kenneth Ehagen's book, Healing Belongs to us. And I start reading on page 44. He said, "God will show me what to do and how best to help them. I once laid hands on a man facing major surgery, but he didn't receive healing. He kept returning to my meetings. One night, he told me, "I was in that healing line and didn't receive my healing. But after hearing you teach, I can see where I missed it. I didn't try to believe or receive anything. I thought if you had it, it would work. Now I see I have a part to play. We all have a part to play in our healing and our deliverance offered to us by Christ by way of his Holy Spirit. I'm supposed to go to the hospital Friday morning. They want to keep me there several days to build me up for this operation, but I'm not going. I'll be back here Friday night for that special laying on a hand service. Friday night, he was the first one in the line. I said, "Well, I see you're here." "Yes," he said, "I'm here. I'll receive my healing, too. Just put your hands on me." He was instantly healed, and he never had to have that operation. I heard from his pastor several years later, and he was still healed. Kennethy Ghagen goes on to say on page 45, I've seen people filled with the Holy Spirit in the same way. They came to be filled, but they didn't receive when I laid hands on them. Nevertheless, they kept coming back to the services. And as their faith was built up by listening to the word of God, because remember, faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. being taught they received the infilling of the Holy Spirit because they got to a place of surrender to where they were ready to make Lord Jesus Lord of their life and truly submit and surrender and come under his lordship. Let's keep reading. Many times I tell people to look at their watch as hands are laid on them and believe they receive their healing then whether there is a physical manifestation or not. I've seen people with terminal cancer and other extreme cases healed that way. There wasn't any manifestation at the moment, but they simply looked at their watch and said, "That's it. Praise God. I accept it now." Then the manifestation came. How many times in the Bible did Jesus say like, "Pick up your mat and walk. Pick up your mat and walk." or or reach out your hand to be healed like the man with the withered hand. How many times did he ask you to to put an action to to your faith? Because when we profess Jesus, the son of God, to others, then we get to walk in all the kingdom has to offer us. When we look at Kenneth E. Hagin's book, and we're going to skip down to 46, uh, many people have told me, "When you laid hands on me, I felt the power of God through me like a bolt of electricity, I felt all right for two or three days, but now every symptom has come back on me." There was no faith on the part of that individual to give action to that power. They know it was there, or they knew it was there. They felt God's healing power go into them, but they didn't act on the word of God. The woman with the issue of blood knew she'd be healed. And she felt the power go into her. And it was her faith. It was her stretching out, fighting through that crowd where she was healed. And I'm asking you today, fight for your deliverance. Fight for your healing. Know that it's yours. Know that it's your portion. Know that Christ died and by his stripes ye were healed. Walk in it. Walk in it. Own it. Accept it. Believe it. Don't depart from it. Refuse to let Satan, the devourer, come in and devour the word of God that's been planted inside of you. Say, Satan, the Lord Jesus rebuke you, or it is written and you resist the devil and he will flee. Don't let him come in and destroy or take ground that you've already occupied. Don't let it happen. Don't let it happen. And we know that Kenneth E. Hagin was paralyzed as a youth and veteran and and because of his faith. And when he got it in, he he was set free and healed. And he went on to to to lay hands on and help many find healing. And then when we look at he he goes on a little bit further and he talks about um on page 48 going into 49, everyone who has been born again of the Holy Spirit has an anointing of the spirit in him. 1 John 2:27 says, "But the anointing which you have received of him abideth in you. You have the right to lay hands in faith on anyone and expect them to be healed. If they release their faith, see that they've got to release their faith. They got to draw that power out, draw that healing out and and accept it and draw it out through faith. Laying on of hands also can be practiced from the standpoint of the law of transmission. By the laying on of hands, you transmit God's healing power to sick persons because you are anointed with that power. Notice this power does not work automatically. You cannot transfer this healing power to whomever you will. Jesus could not. We look at Mark 6:5. When the woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus and he felt this healing anointing or power go out of him, he said, "Who touched my clothes?" And his disciples said unto him, "Thou seeestest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, who touch me?" Mark 5:30-31. There was no way of telling how many people had touched him out of curiosity to see if anything would happen to them. But no power had flowed into any of them because they didn't have the faith to draw it out. The woman with the issue of blood had the faith. It says, "He looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith have made thee whole." Mark 5:32-34. Someone said, "I thought it was a healing power that flowed out of him that healed her." Jesus said it was her faith that did it. Actually, it was a combination of the two. Her faith activated that healing power. It was there all the time. But the other people who had touched him received nothing because they didn't mix faith with their action. We need to realize that this power is passive and inactive until faith is exercised. It will not operate on its own. As far as we know, that woman with the issue of blood was the only person in the whole crowd, and there was a multitude who was healed. She reached out in faith and touched the hymn of Jesus's garment, and she was made whole. Again, reading Kenneth Ehagen's Healing Belongs to Us book. Wow. We only have to exercise our faith. use our faith muscle in times of trials, in times of of adversity, where circumstances come in like a a a a storm and blow in and threaten to wreck our ship or sink our boat. We only have to look to our deliverer. Where does our deliverance come from? It comes from Jesus's death on the cross and his resurrection, him overcoming death and his ascension into heaven. He overcame the wages of sin of death and he reconciled our relationship with God with Abba Father. Sin no longer separates us. We're daughters and sons of the King. Fearfully, beautifully, and wonderfully made, worthy, healed, whole, and set free. Healing is our portion. Say it. Healing is my portion. I have been delivered. I am set free. I am whole. Now walk in it. Now believe it and look to the work done on the cross at Calvary and the bloodshed and the cleansing and washing that came from it. And know you've been delivered. You've been washed clean by the blood of the lamb. You've been healed. You've been made whole. You've been set free. Trust it. Believe it. Walk in it. and find freedom this day from every oppressive
spirit that's trying to operate in your life. You have the Holy Spirit, the spirit of truth living inside of you. Depression is not your portion. Addiction is not your portion. Sickness is not your portion. Premature death is not your portion. We get to have abundant life. Jesus came to give us life abundantly. Walk in those promises. Get into the word. Write the word of God on the tablet of your heart.
