Welcome to Reflective Hour with Tammy Toney-Butler. I'm your host. But we all know who the host of this show is and all that we do. And that's Christ by way of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, come have Your way in this time that we have together. May they hear You and not me, see You and not me, and be forever changed, set free from the lies of the past, the web of deception that the enemy wants to use to keep them trapped, bound in a mind of torment.
Abba, Your love is an all-consuming fire that burns away any lies of the enemy. It burns away deceptive layers placed on us by satan.
Some of us buried under the weight of it all. The weight of fear, shame, regret, hopelessness, self-loathing, imposter syndrome, self- sabotage,
comparison syndrome,
disqualifying our own self, worthlessness.
You revealed yourself to Moses in a burning bush,
an all-consuming fire. Yet the wood remained.
You teach us in your word to trust in You and lean not on our own understanding. Abba, help me to do that. Help me to trust. Help me to let go of my need for control. Help me to surrender, Abba, to Your will and not my own. It's hard to truly let go and let God. We use that phrase all the time that let go, let God. But do we really believe it? Do we really resemble it? Are we really walking in trust, by faith and not by sight.
Are we truly surrendered and obedient to God's will? Or do we try to control outcomes, manipulate outcomes?
Some of us have been manipulated and controlled by others for so long that we don't know how to find our voice to come back, step out, become all God has purposed us to be. Climb up out of that pit of darkness through those deceptive layers
of childhood trauma, affliction, hurt, pain, things placed on us by others at no fault of our own.
How do we
how do we let go enough to let God mold us and shape us so that we have the heart and mind of Christ and we burn for Jesus and the things that Jesus burned for. He came to show us the Father and do Abba's will and show us the kingdom.
He came to give us life. But do we accept that life?
Do we still have a layer of unforgiveness? Have we forgiven ourself? Those that never apologized to us,
that still slander us or gossip about us or want to see our demise. Can you pray for them? Can you pray for those that are persecuting you and wish I shouldn't say wish, I should say pray blessings over them. Bless them, Lord. Bless my enemies, Lord. Bless all those, Lord, that never apologize for what they did to me, for what they're still doing as we try to be about your kingdom business. Bless them, Father. Bless them, Father. Open up the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing on them they don't even have room enough to receive. Bless them Father. See how much freedom there is in that. Do you feel his peace around that? When we pray. When we pray. When we pray. When we pray. When we pray. I do. I feel His peace around that. I feel His peace. What does Hebrews 12:29 tell us
out of the Amplified? For our God is indeed a consuming fire. Oo, let's go to let's look at the ESV. For our God is a consuming fire. Let's go down to the Philips version. This means that in this final shaking, all that is impermanent will be removed. That is, everything that is merely made and only the unshakable things will remain. Since then, we've been given a kingdom that is unshakable. Let us serve God with thankfulness in the ways which please him, but always with reverence and holy fear. For it is perfectly true that our God is a burning fire. Look at the message version. Do you see what we've got? An unshakable kingdom. And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful, but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God. For God is not indiff is not an indifferent bystander. He's actively cleaning house, torching all that needs to burn. And he won't quit until it's all cleansed. God himself is fire. And the NLT says, "For our God is a devouring fire." A devouring fire. Wow. And the King James, for our God is a consuming fire. Will you let God burn away today your own will? Will you surrender to being led by Him? come under His Lordship and let Him do a work in you and purge you of anything that's not of Him. Cleanse your house, so to speak, because we are the house of God, right? The spiritual house. Do you have furniture in your house like a sofa of hate, a love seat of unforgiveness,
a bar chair of addiction?
A lamp
of hate
that doesn't even work anymore and doesn't even turn on and only produces darkness. Do you have furniture in your house that needs to go that needs to be cleaned out so God can do a complete and perfect work in you? Do an inventory today of all the furniture in your spiritual house and what you need to throw out to the curb, what you need to get rid of, what you need to ask God and invite God into your situation and ask Him by way of the Holy Spirit to burn away anything not of Him. And that's today's episode of Reflective Hour with Tammy Toney-Butler. God bless you. God keep you. May His Light shine upon you this day and every day. Glory be to Jesus. Glory be to Jesus. Glory be to Jesus.
